Complementing art and business
Talking with Mark Skidmore and Marsha Rinetti is like being in the middle of an admiration society, reminiscent of the old Saturday Night Live episodes when Fernando Llamos (Billy Crystal) said to Barry Manilow "You look marvelous!" who responded, "No baby, you look marvelous!"

The beauty of the 'ugly plant'
Carole Sullivan and her husband Jan Lavacek are nationally known for their careers in theater and helping to root the well-established Main Street Players in Galena. However, in this story, they're work is upstaged by their blooming orchids and thriving plants amidst winter grays.

Westside Studio opens on Red Gates Road
Hendrica Regez is a self-taught artist, who's paintings are reminiscent of the vibrantly gold Gustav Klimt, surreal Frida Kahlo and her found object sculptures are like Dahli's images incarnated. She chooses symbolism, spirituality and the extraordinary in everyday things to make her art.

Like many, she has worked out of the little extra room at her home or where ever she could find space to work on the many mediums in her pallet.
